PACKERS CORNER: Purim, Bibi, and the Trump Peace Plan

Its been a very hectic week in the Middle East and especially in Israel. So its Purim tonight and by tomorrow and if you’re celebrating correctly then you won’t remember anything, so let’s get right into it.
In Syria, things continue to get crazier and crazier. Turkey is doubling-down in Afrin (northwest Syria) and now sending in special forces. The Kurds continue to hold tough and now have some help from Syrian Government forces. Meanwhile, in the northeast of Syria, America went for the full Purim attack on Russian mercenary forces and Syrian/Iranian forces, killing at least 200 and wounding something like 200 more – out of a force of approximately 500. The short story is that the US and their primarily Kurdish allies have carved out an autonomous region east of the Euphrates River. For some reason, the Syrians/Russians/Iranians decided that now would be the right time to try and seize some of those areas, especially where there is oil. It turns out that now was not the right time. Remains to be seen if there will be further effects from this incident that reverberate throughout Syria. Important to keep in mind that Bashar Assad, the President of Syria, still only controls about 50% of Syria, the rest being held by rebels and Kurds (with US backing). This one ain’t nearly over. Over 600 people killed near Damascus (the capital!!) in just the last week and a half!
Turning to Israel. Everything fell apart and then it didn’t, but it still could.
-The FOUR investigations against the Prime Minister continue with no end in sight. The fourth investigation (“case #4000”) was reported to be quite serious and then the judge and investigator were proven to be secretly coordinating their efforts. Big legal no-no. This one may be a dud as well. Too soon to say. Endless.
-Coalition trouble. Big fight between the Haredi parties and Avigdor Lieberman and his goons. The reason – a new draft law. When the Haredi parties joined the Government it was on condition that a new draft law be passed (previous one was struck down by the Supreme Court) that would protect yeshiva students from having to go to the army. Lieberman thinks the army should decide the perameters of the law. So far, no one has quit, or even threatened to quit, the Government. Theoretically, the Haredi-proposed law can pass without Lieberman and his party’s support and that’s likely what will happen.
-The Supreme Court today ruled to delay the destruction of the 15 houses in the Jewish Community of Netiv Ha’Avot in Gush Etzion (Judea/Southern West Bank) for another 3 months, giving time for temporary houses to be built for the families to live in until permanent houses are built nearby. How many permanent houses will be built? A new government decision has ordered the legalization of Netiv Ha’Avot and the building of 350 more homes there. The point of the “Peace Now” lawsuit was to destroy the Jewish Community there but it was switched around and the Community will now (legally) thrive!  Coincidence that it happens near Purim – not bloody likely.
Finally, just tonight reports are coming out supposedly revealing details of the Trump Administration’s soon-to-be-released peace plan. Already there are those condemning it and those saying the reports are not accurate. Could go any which way. Who knows at this point. Nothing new in the plan, at least how’s its being reported. More of the same and will most likely end up the same as well – dustbin of history.
And as it was then, so should it be now:
“Now in the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, on the thirteenth day of the same, when the king’s commandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution, in the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have rule over them; whereas it was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over them that hated them;” (Esther 9:1)

Jordanian Opposition Coalition: JORDAN’S QUEEN HAS ACTIVIST ARRESTED

QUEEN CAN’T STAND CRITICISM ATTACKING HER LAVISH LIFESTYLE – AND FRIENDSHIP WITH BONO

(London, England) – In an effort to support a lavish lifestyle and an out of control economy, Jordan’s Monarch has again increased the prices of basic staples of life ranging from Bread to Electricity, causing protests across the country.

Jordan’s economy is running on a just under 100% debt ratio. This, along with a lavish lifestyle that includes Jets, Yachts, Mansions in multiple countries and gambling junkets to foreign lands allows the King and Queen to hob nob with the rich and famous (like Bono), while Jordanians starve.

“Jordan is engulfed in a life and death situation,” Mudar Zahran, Secretary General of the Jordanian Opposition Coalition (JOC)said. “Unlike previous protests, these ones call openly for toppling the regime, and is spreading across the nation”.

The importance of the events to the world can be summed up as follows: Not only is the Queen a prima donna, but more importantly, the king is no longer able to control his own state-run media, let alone the growing throng of hungry people. The renowned Brtish paper, The Times, reported on the protests last Sunday with a full-page story, titled: “Hungry Jordan vents anger at prodigal royals-An economic crisis, rising food prices and protests at the ruling family’s lavish lifestyle are stirring memories of the Arab Spring”

“The king is losing control of the country department, by department, block by block and person by person,” Zahran continued. “In the past, this would never happen – to maintain control, the king would simply send in the military to put down the crowds, have the police or military arrest everyone, put them in jail, and then allow them to somehow disappear.”

“For some reason, the King is not arresting people,” Zahran added. “I believe its because putting them in jail is expensive, and as many of the chants heard during the demonstrations say, he is about to flee the country, and do so with billions of dollars in gold, jewelry, antiquities and cash.”

One of the most blatant example of their abuse of power and denial of rights occurred on 23 February 2017 when activist Seyaj AlMajali spoke at an anti-regime protests in Kerak, 100 Miles south of the Capital Amman. During his speech, he criticized the queen before the crowd, saying “The wives of Jordanians were from known families and respected themselves and did not appear on the cover of magazines with Bono”.

These words apparently were the “straw that broke the camel’s back”. Immediately upon hearing this, Queen Rania – in a rare exercise of her royal power – ordered AlMajali arrested. For the record, the “alleged” Bono-Rania connection has been a matter of controversy, mockery and rumors in Jordan for years, and it clearly bothers the queen. To show their disdain for her actions, and the actions of the king, the Jordanian public refers to her as “Marie Antoinette”, because of the lavish life style and multiple extra marital affairs. In fact, because of her actions and disdain for her subjects, many Jordanians are waiting for her to mimic Marie and say – “Let them eat cake”.

At the same time, the JOC, Jordan’s leading opposition group, is in the process of educating the US Congress about what the king is doing, and has notified them that the situation in Jordan is rapidly melting down, and the arrest of Siyaj Majali or Heba Melheim will push the peaceful protesters into violence.

According to Mudar, “The world needs to know that the regime’s actions will backfire on them and ignite a Syria like situation, undermining American interests in the region.”

Another example of how the Royal family is abusing their power is that of activist Heba Melheim who has been threatened with a Lobotomy for not wearing a ‘Hijab’.

According to the JOC’s Human Rights Secretary, Alaa Al Kofahi, “What the king and queen have done to Majali is evidence of a politically bankrupt regime, and it has to stop immediately.”

According to Zahran, “We demand that the UC Congress educate themselves about what the King is doing to his people, how he is working against American interest in the region and just exactly what other leaders in the region think of him.

“On behalf of the Jordanian people, the JOC demands that they release Majali and all other detainees immediately,” Zahran added. “If any activists who are exercising their right to free speech are harmed in any way, not only will every member of the US Congress and UK Parliament be educated about your actions, but we will pursue actions against you in the International Courts.

HEBREW WARRIOR General Joseph Achuzie of Biafra Dies at 89

The struggle for an Igbo led free Biafra was led in its early days by many dedicated leaders. One of these leaders the Biafran hero General Joseph Achuzie  has passed to the next world at the age of 89.

He was a courageous and fearless defender of justice and the persecuted. Achuzie was a hero who stood along with his fellow patriots to defend our people and homeland when the Nigerian government in collaboration with the British government dedicated themselves to the total annihilation of the Igbo and the other ethnic nationalities of Biafra, which led to the unconscionable annexation of our home land.

At that most critical moment in our history men and women like Achuzie rallied together and by sheer courage and bravery they fought back and prevented a preconceived total and systemic genocide of our people. A genocide aimed at wiping out the Israelite presence in West Africa. Of all those people who fought to stop the most outrageous and unspeakable evil committed against a people since history on the African continent General Achuzie stood out.

Biafrans of this generation and subsequent ones owe our survival to the courage and sacrifices of such men and women like Achuzie. If an independent Hebrew State of Biafra led by the Igbo people has any hope of transpiring it will need peope like Achuzie her were selfess and courageous and believed in the divine destiny of the Igbo people and their Israelite heritage stemming from the tribe of Gad.

Naa n’udo General, our hero, rest on in the noble company of our reposed ancestors.

[WATCH] Jordan’s King is Beginning to Feel the Heat

Below is a series of videos put together by the Jordanian Opposition Coalition which is led by Mudar Zahran.  They were filmed from inside Jordan showing a growing protest movement from ordinary Jordanians against their king and his family.

A majority of Jordanians are Palestinianss, which has led many to believe that it is far better to focus on making Jordan Palestine. If the protests continue to gain steam then it is reasonable to assume that the next ruler of Jordan may very well be a Palestinian, thus ending the conflict once and for all with Israel.

Who are the Balestinians?

The Palestinian narrative in the Holy Land has always relied on their perceivable indigenous standing as a people in the land for thousands of years.  To uninformed observers Palestine is the location’s authentic name. After all, the maps confirm this “fact.”  Never mind, the fact that most people until very recently considered the Land of Israel or “Palestine” as belonging to the Jewish people.

Muslim sources strongly indicate the Holy Land as belonging to the Children of Israel.  It goes without saying in Christian thought that the Holy Land is in fact historically Jewish.  Of course each group viewed our 2,000 year old exile as some sort of punishment for not following their respective leader, however the point of ancestral ownership if fully confirmed in each one’s theological outlook.

Israel HaYom ran an article in February of 2014 on the Palestinian fantasy narrative.  The piece stated the following:

In Munich on January 31, Saeb Erekat, the Palestinian Authority’s chief negotiator in U.S.-mediated Israeli-Palestinian talks, reportedly asserted that Palestinian Arabs “cannot accept Israel as the Jewish state because they lived in the region long before the Jews. In the context of the current debate over the Jordan Valley [and Israel’s insistence on retaining its own forces in the area as part of an agreement with the Palestinian Authority], Erekat claimed that his ancestors were the real descendants of the Canaanites and lived in the area for 5,500 years before Joshua bin-Nun, [according to the Torah, Moses’ successor who led the Israelites into the Promised Land]”

My intention is not to spend time delving into the lack of historical support for such an absurd claim, but rather bring this up in context of yesterday’s explosion at the Knesset over the actual veracity of the Palestinian claim of being indigenous.  Anat Berko of Likud said the following:

“As we’ve noted, the letter ‘P’ doesn’t even exist in Arabic, so the borrowed term (Palestine) is worth looking into.” When challenged by Left wing MK’s, Berko continued,  “Those are the facts, I’ll send them to you. It’s fine.”

These are facts.

It is true, they don’t take away anything from the Palestinian narrative, which has plenty of holes in it as it is.  The idea that the Palestinians themselves pronounce their name Balestinian is not a make or break issue for anyone.  If their “national” narrative was rock solid then one can assume the “P” was a foreign introduction. After all they claim the Jews were foreign introductions to the Land of Israel.

Perhaps, Auni Bey Abdul-Hadi, the Palestinian Arab leader in 1937 already understood the truth.  He said, “there is no such country [as Palestine]! ‘Palestine’ is a term the Zionists invented! There is no Palestine in the Bible. Our country was for centuries part of Syria.”

None of this should be misconstrued to disenfranchise people of their individual freedoms here in our land.  All of us should learn to respect individual rights no matter if the individual has a narrative that was concocted out of thin air or changes every few years to suit one’s political needs. What is important however, is it should call into question our need to support such viewpoints when  discussing the future of our ancestral homeland.
