BREAKING NEWS: Putin Fires Cruise Missiles into Syria, US Scrambles Jets to Protect Kurds

Putin decided to show who is really in charge in the Middle East by shooting cruise missiles from the Eastern Mediterranean into Syria today.  This adds a fourth avenue for leveling his foes in the Syrian and Western Iraqi combat theatres.  The other three now consist of shooting missiles from the Caspian Sea, launching long-range bombing missions from Iran, and utilizing his base in Latakia, Syria.

As the USA continues to flounder in the ongoing proxy war, the Kurds are becoming more and more isolated by a rapprochement between Russia and Turkey with the latter now getting free rein against the Kurds of Syria and at times Iraq. This is compounded with a fresh assault from the Syrians against the Kurdish positions in its North.

The USA, trying to establish some sort of footing within the fast changing alliances in the Middle East tried to put its foot down on behalf of the Kurds. The US Airforce actually scrambled its fighter jets in response to te Syrians ignoring America’s warning to stop bombing Kurdish and Coalition forces.

“This was done as a measure to protect coalition forces,” Pentagon spokesman Captain Jeff Davis said.

“We will ensure their safety and the Syrian regime would be well-advised not to do things that place them at risk… We view instances that place the coalition at risk with the utmost seriousness and we do have the inherent right of self-defense.”

The intended target of the Syrian airforce was Hasakeh, a city mostly controlled by Kurdish forces. Up until now, the US has pretty much stayed in the background in context to Russia’s proxy war.  This new bellicose tone come at a time where most observers see American influence and might waning in the Middle East.  The sabre rattling, might feel good, but Kurdish forces need more seriousness in tackling their growing isolation. If the Kurds succumb to the combined Turkish, Russian, and Syrian might then nothing will stop the three of them and Iran from controlling the Middle East.   Israel will have to make tough choices in the coming weeks as events have taken over the agenda.

WAR DRUMS: Putin Places 40,000 Troops on Ukrainian Border, As Obama Moves Nukes Closer

In a move that risks pushing the region into all out war, Rissian President Putin positions 40,000 troops and armored vehicles on the border with Ukraine. The US took staleite photos of the troop movemements, witnessing new staging grounds being created with an array of units including combat troops. tanks, and fighters being deployed.

Navy Captain Danny Hernandez told the Washington Free Beacon that the exercises were being closely monitored.

Hernandez said: “We are extremely concerned about the increasing tensions near the administrative boundary between Crimea and the rest of Ukraine.

Crimea is  a disputed Russian province who voted in 2014 to leave the Ukraine and join the Russian Federation as an autnomous district.

Why is Obama Moving Nukes Closer?

Multiple sources have shared that the US is moving its 50 nukes from Turkey to Romania. The reason for the move is do the deterorating relations between USA and Turkey. The fact that the move also coincides with Russian expansion both in the Middle East and Eastern Europe has not been lost on experts.  The question remains as to why Obama is doing this in such a fashion with the end result essentially handing the Middle East over to Putin?

The answer lies in how Obama and his administration has viewed the situation in the Middle East from the very beginning of his Presidency and that is an unwinnable theatre that is far best left to others.  The challenge is, “the others” Obama thought would take over was not Russia, but rather organic political and religious forces already on the ground.  It remains to be seen if and when Obama will put his foot down with Russia.  The assumption is that the real redline for Obama is Ukraine and Eastern Europe.

ON THE FRONTLINES: Khirbet Susiya an Ancient Jewish Village is Under Threat

Khirbet Susiya

Khirbet Susiya, also known as Horvat Susiya is an ancient Jewish landmark is the Southern Hebron Hills uncovered by archeologists in 1969 after the area was liberated by Israel.  In the years that followed, Khirbet Susiya has become a national landmark and proof that a solid Jewish existed throughout the Har Hebron Hills up until the Islamic invasion in the 8th Century.  The Jews of the area either converted to Islam or fled.

Now, this ancient landmark known for its oldest freestanding synagogue is under threat by Arab squatters from Yatta backed up by the EU and the United States State Department.  These squatters have amassed a following through the international community and have set up tents on the archeological site. The group from Yatta number around 350 people and claim Khirbet Susiya as their own. They claim the site of Khirbet Susiya is really theirs despite the overwhelming evidence for it being an ancient Jewish village.

“Surveys of villages and populations conducted by the British Mandatory powers in 1945, which mention all of the villages in the area and even some of the inhabitants, prove there is no hint of the existence of an Arab village named Susiya,” says Josh Hasten, spokesman for Regavim an NGO that  fights illegal land use. “More recently aerial photos obtained by Regavim from 1999 show nothing resembling a village in that area. An identical photo from 2013 shows how squatters have infiltrated the locale.”

With the Supreme Court’s ultimatim to the goverment of Israel to destroy the encampment, the government has very little flexibility.  In the coming days and the weeks the left is expected to harm the reputation of the region by continuing to build a false narritive with one goal in mind and that is to appropriate more land from Israel and erase established Jewish history.

The mother and her 16 year old son are currently being held at the Moriah police station in Jerusalem.m

The woman’s children were led away by their 14 year old brother who video taped most of the incident. They were threatened to be taken away by social services, but were able to escape on a bus back home.  Witnesses say the baby was crying for hours for her mother.

“Instead of chasing terrorists and real criminals, the Israeli police arrest a 16 year old boy and his mother in front of her little children including her 2 year old little girl. For what? for questioning the the officer? How dare she? Real heroes!! What an embarrassment!!!” said the boy’s father, who was not there.

In the video below the boy can be seen taken away and pushed to the ground with the mother asking why they are taking him.  A total of five police cars were used for this incident.

The incident brings back memories where the police used draconian tactics to keep under age settler youth behind bars with no charges.  Most of those youth have been ordered out of police custody by the courts after the security services failed to present any evidence.

ON THE FRONTLINES: After 70 Years, Jews Have Returned to the Old City Shuk

In what is considered the “Arab” Shuk, which runs from the Jaffa Gate down to the Western Wall, a new Jewish store has opened.  In most cities this would go unnoticed, but in Jerusalem where thousands of Jews were expelled in 1948 by the Jordanian Legions, reclaiming stolen Jewish property especially in areas perceived to be Arab is extremely important.

The new store is owned by a Texas man who bought it from the Moriah School by way of City Council Member Arieh King. The school had reclaimed the store along with it’s current location, but without a use for the students it decided to sell. Despite the purchase, the owner couldn’t find a dedicated manager, willing to sit in the middle of thousands of hostile Arabs.  That changed after Rabbi Ben Packer of the Heritage House introduced the owner to Shaul Gheblikian an Armenian Jew.

“The store is located on the way to the Western Wall.  Where is it more important to strengthen than the Jewish presence on the way to the Western Wall,” Rabbi Packer says.

Shaul Gheblikian has spent the last month cleaning up the small store front and making a presence there on a daily basis while he awaits proper permits to sell food.  Asked if the neighbors have been antagonistic he responds on the affirmative. “Most repeated phrase in the Torah is do not be afraid.” The animosity has not deterred Shaul.  He is fearless and stands guard over the property.  Very often tourists and Yeshiva students join him to learn and schmooze.

In the near future the store will be used to attract tourists in hopes they will  buy Israeli food products like wine, honey, and cold pressed juice.  For now Shaul and others are making sure the Arab squatters in the area do not vandalize and harm the store or those managing it.
