Knesset Committee Votes to Recognize the Armenian Genocide

Although the general Knesset never passed a law recognizing the Armenian genocide that didn’t stop the Education, Culture, and Sports committee from recognizing the Armenian genocide of 1915.

“It is our moral obligation to recognize the holocaust of the Armenian nation,” said the committee Chairman MK Zehava Galon of Meretz in a joint statement formulated with MK Yaakov Margi (Shas). The Ottoman Turks massacred 1.5 million Armenians in World War 1. With a relatively large amount of Armenians in Jerusalem, pressure has been put on Israel over the years to recognize the genocide.

“Each year we instill false hope in the people sitting here,” said Galon. “It is a disservice to the Knesset to continue going on and on about this issue, year after year, without reaching a decision that the State of Israel and the Knesset recognize the genocide of the Armenian people.”

With Turkey agreeing to the rapproachment deal with Israel, it would be surprising if Israel would officially agree to recognize Turkey’s responsibility in the genocide.

Yehuda Glick: “A 15-year-old boy is not a ‘ticking bomb'”

Yehuda Glick

A special ministrial committee met on a specific case concerning the forced distancing of a 15 year old boy from his parents home in Yitzhar on the grounds that he engaged in violence towards Arabs.

MK Yehuda Glick was present at the meeting. “This kind of sentence ought to be reserved for emergency situations in which there is a ‘ticking bomb.’ A 15-year-old boy is not a ‘ticking bomb,'” Glick said. “If there is a suspicion that he is going to vandalize a mosque or punch a hole in some car tires, then there are ways to deal with this. The boy has no criminal background […] the means used against him are extraneous.”

Glick connected the plight of the boy to his own situation. “The police fought against me, libeled me, demonized me, made me out as the most dangerous man in the Middle East – thank G-d, the court awarded me damages.”

“The police justified their behavior by saying that I had wanted to disrupt the status quo. A citizen in a democratic country is allowed to want to change the status quo. There is a feeling that security forces are taking on a role that goes beyond their function – that of ‘educator of the correct ideology.”

The police have increasingly used their authority to force youth from Judea and Samaria to suffer harsh conditions by being distanced from their families or even jailed with no charges.

Erdogan Restructuring Turkish Military, Ending Its Historic Independence

President Erdogan, continuing to utilize the failed coup attempt of 18 days ago, has ended the historic division between the army and government that has existed for nearly a century.

Wiping the last visages  military independence, Erdogan’s government made statutory decree as par of the three-month emergence decree that the prime minister, chief of General Staff, the deputy prime ministers, justice minister, foreign minister, interior minister, defense minister and force commanders would join to the Supreme Military Council.

This injection of “civilian” governance into the military would be fine in any other country, but in Turkey the Supreme Military Council was designed to remain separate in order to ensure that Turkey would remain secular in its institutions.  In a strange sense it is the military that was built to hold up democracy.

Turkey’s war academies, military high schools, and high schools that train non-commissioned officers have been closed.

US Begins Airstrikes in Libya Against ISIS Targets

Responding to the UN backed government in Libya’s request for help against ISIS, the US began bombing strategic areas in Libya.

Ironically the core stronghold of ISIS is the hometown of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. Sirte is extra important to ISIS as it is a Mediterranean coastal city across the sea from Europe. This makes the second most important conquest outside of Syria and Iraq.

The US bombing campaign is focused mainly on pushing the ISIS militants from Sirte in order to allow the Libyan government to go in and take over.

Cracks Forming in Bibi Netanyahu’s Coalition as Bennett and Likud Trade Accusations

“I will not take back my criticism of the preparations for the tunnel threat,”Bennett told Army Radio. “The comptroller’s report is trustworthy and serious.” According to leaks from the soon to be released comprtoller report. State Comptroler Yosef Shapira accused Prime Minister Netanyau and then Defense Minister of not providing the security cabinet with real-time updates in connection with an imminent threat of war and Hamas’ tunnel capabilities.

The tension in the government conintued into Monday as Likud released a statement attacking Bennett and Shaked for serving the Left by undermining the Prime Minister.

“As I have said, the reality can’t be changed retroactively. I have full faith in the State Comptroller and his professionalism,” Bennett reitereated. “I have 100 percent, complete trust in the findings that he will release in another few weeks.”

The confrontation has gotten to the point where Finance Minister Moshe Kachlon insited: “We need to send this government on vacation. Send them out, urgently, before we have to institutionalize them, the whole government.”

Reclaiming Jerusalem One House At a Time: “Now is the Time to Buy”

Jerusalem, home to the Jewish nation for more than 2,000 years, is seeing a historic trend of Jews claiming ownership in its neighborhoods. We are all familiar with Jews living in the Jerusalem neighborhoods we normally visit. However, there are many brave Jews that take ownership of properties in dominantly Arab neighborhoods. They are taking the initiative to reclaim the land that rightfully belongs to them.

Buying property from Arabs is no easy task. According to the Palestinian Authority, selling land to a Jew is a crime, punishable by death. Hence, there is a conscious fear of selling land to Jews.

Ateret Cohanim, a non-profit organization located in Jerusalem, helps find and buy land from Arabs while protecting the Arabs from getting caught for their “crime.” Ateret Cohanim is responsible for the flourishing Jewish presence in the Muslim Quarter in the Old City of Jerusalem, the Village of Shiloach (Kfar Hateimanim) and Kidmat Zion (Abu Dis).

According to Jerusalem city councilman Aryeh King in an interview with Arutz Sheva, “more and more Arabs are offering properties for sale. Because of that the cost of properties that Arabs are selling is dropping and we are able to buy in areas that we never thought to buy.” It seems the Arabs are less hesitant to see to Jews nowadays. “There is a big wave of new Arabs who are offering properties, and we don’t have enough money to buy all of the properties that are being offered.”

When asked whether it is really possible to reclaim a majority of Jerusalem land, Ben Packer of the Jerusalem Heritage House replied, “We see this is true right now, but can’t know what will be in the future. Now is the time to buy!”

Israel Protesting France’s Support For Terrorism

In response to a recent terror attack in a French church, Prime Minister Netanyahu sent his condolences to France during today’s Cabinet meeting. He then pointed out that evidence shows France is one of several European nations providing monetary support to organizations and NGO’s that incite terror and boycotts against Israel.

Meanwhile, French Prime Minister Manuel Valls said last week that there is a need for a “thorough review to form a new relationship with French Islam” and that France will take up measures to stop foreign aid to mosques as a new step in the fight against Islamic terror. This is hypocrisy at its best when we find that France is interested in curbing Islamic terror locally but is not hesitant to support Islamic terror in Israel.

“Terror is terror in all places, and incitement is incitement all over the world,” Netanyahu said. “I heard about a discussion that took place last week in the French government about preventing foreign money from organizations that harm French citizens. That sounds familiar to us. We are also concerned about these types of contribution to organizations that reject Israel’s existence.”

This is even more absurd when we find that France need Israel’s help in stopping terror attacks.

Last week, the Israeli Ambassador to France condemned the French initiative to grant honorary citizenship to Marwan Barghouti, a known terrorist responsible for hundreds of deaths.

The questions stands: What does France stand for? Why are they openly supporting terrorism in their own country and abroad?

Niger Delta Avengers state the Obvious, “Buhari’s government is a fraud!”

Niger Delta Avengers

“Mr. President you can purchase all the drones in Europe and Untied State. It will not stop the Niger Delta Avengers from bringing the country’s economy to zero. The worse you can do is to kill poor innocent people which the military is good at, but know the Nigeria Economy will suffer.”

– Niger Delta Avengers

Although the Niger Delta Avengers are often times depicted by the Nigerian regime as a terrorist organization, many Biafrans who have suffered greatly at the hands of the Buhari led Islamist government in Nigeria. view the Niger Delta Avengers as freedom fighters.

The Niger Delta Avengers released the following statement through their spokesman, Mudoch Agbinibo:

The NDA intelligence agency gathered that the said peace talk or dialogue by the federal government is a delay tactic employed by the federal government to enable their purchased drones that are said to arrive latest end of August from the United State.

This whole thing makes us to wonder what kind of country is this. We can all see that President Buhari- led government is a fraud. They are not serious about any dialogue and made it seem the Niger Delta Avengers are the ones not ready for dialogue.

Mr. President you can purchase all the drones in Europe and Untied State. It will not stop the Niger Delta Avengers from bringing the country’s economy to zero. The worse you can do is to kill poor innocent people which the military is good at, but know the Nigeria Economy will suffer.

Also note that you will not be able to export one litre of crude in the Niger Delta. Just intensify the oil exploration in the north-east as for the ones in the Niger Delta forget about it because the Nigeria government won’t export a drop from our land.

The statement makes it clear that the Niger Delta Avengers as a group are only responding to provocations initiated by the Buhari led government. In the coming months these sort of attacks can be expected to increase. As Buhari and his Islamist regime continues to inflict damage on the Igbo and the other tribes that make up Biafra, patience is wearing thin.  The Niger Delta Avengers are correct, oil is the key to Buhari.  Disrupting the sale of the oil to the world will certainly bring the country to a stand still.

In Israel’s fight for independence, the Lehi captured the imagination of the Jewish youth oppressed by British forces and Arab mobs.  The Lehi as well as the Irgun bombed the British rail lines, targeted officials, and at the end brought the country to a standstill causing th British to leave. The Niger Delta Avengers appear to be few in number, but like the Lehi they are capable of bringing Nigeria to a halt. The Nigerian government will have to think twice before sending the army into the Biafran heartland. What Lehi proved and the Niger Delta Avengers are figuring out is that force of arms is the only tactic that works.

The West Can Stop Terror By Learning From Israel’s Security Experience

As the number of terror attacks by Muslim extremists in Western countries surges, countries such as France are looking to Israel for help in curbing terror attacks.

While the enemies of Israel and the West have different names, the underlying theme of the terror attacks is martyrdom or Jihad in the name of Allah and Islam. ISIS and Al-Qaeda want to rid the world of infidels, Jews and Christians, while Hamas, Hezbollah and the Palestinian Authority want to rid of Israel with the same goal as ISIS.

In a report by the Institute for National Security Studies, the point is made that France’s measures to combat terrorism, though numerous, have not been very effective in restoring calm in the country. Some of these measures include increased surveillance of Muslim radicals, telephone hotlines to report radicalized individuals, formation of intelligence units, deployment of police reserve units and even joining the US in the fight against ISIS in the Middle East.

“France considers Israel an important partner in the fight against Salafi jihadist terrorism, and sent a parliamentary delegation to Israel to learn from its experience,” says the report. “Israel’s professional, decades-long experience in fighting terrorism and the deep friendship between Israel and France obligate Israel to offer France assistance – to the extent requested – to fight their common enemy… The grave security situation in France may serve to shift public sentiments in France, and make the French more attentive to Israel’s concerns and security requirements in any future agreement with the Palestinians.”

How can Israel help?

Israel has been facing terror attacks ever since and even before it became the State of Israel. The recent terror wave in Israel which began in October 2015, has seen a steady decline thanks to increased security efforts and setting up an alert system to track down terrorists before they attack.

Arutz Sheva reported that this alert system was developed and based on an extensive analysis of terrorists since October. Police and the IDF saw a trend in the type of people committing these terror attacks. “The military’s analysis of attackers shows that most have been 24 or younger, and some 90 percent were male. Among the first 80 to 90 attackers from October to January, suicide was among the motives for around 40 percent.

Surveillance and monitoring is not enough to deter an attack. There is a cultural and social problem that needs to be addressed in many European countries. The analyses that Israel performs after an attack, along with technology to narrow down social media chatter, and campaigns to convince young people not to become radicalized and carry out attacks are all part of an effective counter-terrorism initiative. Intelligence units in Israel are known to be one of the best in the world and can probably help Western countries on deeper strategies to prevent future terror attacks.

Israeli Flags Burned at Philly DNC Convention; Protesters Arrested

During protests by Bernie Sanders supporters outside the Wells Fargo Center, where the Democratic National Convention is being held, Israeli and even US flags were being burned. More than 50 protesters were arrested by police.

Sanders’ supporters are angry about the recent revelations by Wikileaks showing the Democratic National Committee’s desire to oust Sanders as the Democratic nominee. This led to many protests by his supporters and their true colors are being shown. They hate Israel. They hate the US. They hate democracy.

Numerous reports and social media posts show that Monday’s convention had more Palestinian flags waved than US flags.

Some questions need to be asked:

  1. Will the Democratic party lean even more to the left in order to accommodate Sanders’ supporters in order to get their vote?
  2. How is such hypocrisy tolerated when there are much greater atrocities being committed around the world than the so-called “Israeli occupation?”
  3. Shouldn’t the focus during the convention be on Americans and its citizens, not on Israel?

It seems like Hamas and pro-Palestinian supporters are just sabotaging the popular event to advertise antisemitism as the new trend it has become. Whether it be by burning flags, campus protests against Israel and the BDS movement, the growth of antisemitism in the US and the world is daunting.
