Hijacking Jesus?

The fourth Christ at the Checkpoint conference is slated to take place March 5 – 13 near Bethlehem.

For the unfamiliar this biennial event which began in 2010 brings together several hundred Christians, including leaders, from around the world primarily to proclaim the Arabs are victims of Israeli “occupation” and “injustice.”

The conference convenes under a banner of “peace, justice and reconciliation.” In reality the actual agenda is revisionist advocacy, promoting Arab victimization, while ignoring, and in some cases overtly rejecting what scripture says about Israel and the Jewish people.

They have taken replacement theology (supersessionism)  to a more baseless level. Replacement theology in its classic sense is the belief that the Jews abrogated their covenants with God by not accepting Jesus as Messiah and the result is the Church has replaced them in God’s plan.

A simple look at Romans 11:1 confirms that view is contrary to scripture.

Jesus and the Church are Arabic

However, the Arabs have gone a step further. Not only are the Jews out as God’s Chosen, the Church as we know it, as well as Jesus have been re-invented. Jesus is not Jewish, but an Arab as is the Church itself. I wonder how many Christians worldwide are aware of this reinvention.

Rather than seeing Israel’s miraculous rebirth in 1948 as fulfillment of God’s promises to the Jewish people, CATC rejects this view, and uses the same terminology as the Muslims when referring to Israel , such as “occupation,” “apartheid state,” “colonial,” “racist,” etc.

Let’s consider the conference name- Christ at the Checkpoint. This is meant to suggest that if Jesus was alive today he would be stopped at a checkpoint (as most Arabs are due to their terror attacks against Israel). He would be required to validate his identity to ensure he isn’t a terrorist, before being allowed entry into Israel. In essence they are implying Jesus is one of them, and would be humiliated by Israeli security.

Let’s unpack this a bit.

First off without getting into the theological differences between Jews and Christians regarding Jesus, there are some incontrovertible facts which are essential to this narrative.

Jesus is a Jew. He is from the Jewish tribe of Judah.

He was raised Jewish. When he taught he did so in synagogues on Shabbat (the Jewish Sabbath). He never spoke in ‘Christian’ churches on Sunday. Why? There were no Christian churches when he was alive. His message was for Jews. In fact what became known later as “Christianity” actually began as part of Judaism.

Yet the Arabs have painted over these facts and stolen his actual identity to promote a false revisionist agenda for their own gain.

Rewriting the Bible

However, they didn’t stop there. In addition to making Jesus and the origin of the Church both Arabic they altered scripture in order to conform to their revisionist agenda. Consider the message given by Jack Sara, the President of Bethlehem Bible College at the 2012 conference.

He quoted from Ezekiel chapter 37, which is commonly referred to as the ‘dry bones’ prophesy.

Here is what Mr. Sara said-

The hand of the Lord was on me and He brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of the West Bank- Bethlehem, Jenin and Salvit and Nablus and Ramallah. It was full of bones….He asked me ‘Son of Man can these bones live? Can the Palestinian people live?’ Then He said to me ‘prophesy to these bones and say to them “dry bones hear the word of the Lord.”’….You see the Palestinian people were and are a lot like this valley of dry bones that is in need of the Church to come and prophesy life on them.

The text in red is not in the Bible. Those words were inserted by Mr. Sara.

If one of the goals of CATC is “peace, justice and reconciliation,” how is it advanced by altering scripture? Moreover, how can reconciliation between Arabs and Jews take place when the very words of the Jewish scripture is altered in order to delegitimize them?

Fair Representation?

The organizers have also claimed to present a balanced view of conflict. That would suggest having fair representation of pro-Israel  perspectives included among the guest speakers. Of the 34 speakers at the last conference in 2014 two were pro-Israeli. 32 or 95% were not. As of this writing not a single scheduled speaker at the upcoming conference is pro-Israeli. This is balanced?

Examples of the leaders who have attended and promoted CATC include Stephen Sizer, Vicar of Christ Church in England. His anti-Israel sentiment runs so deep he has voluntarily appeared on Muslim TV.

Others include Sami Awad, Founder of the Holyland Trust who has been quoted saying “nonviolence is not a substitute for the armed struggle…”

Many of the participants and organizers are also part of the World Council of Churches, a Christian umbrella group claiming over 500,000,000 members from all mainstream denominations. The WCC is strongly anti-Israel as evidenced by their Kairos Palestine Document.

Conference Manifesto

There are some eyebrow raising points in the CATC conference manifesto :

  • “Christians must understand the global context for the rise of extremist Islam.”  

Huh? Did they consult with Hamas or ISIS when they drew up their list?

 

  • “Any exclusive claim to the land of the Bible in the name of God is not in line with the teaching of scripture.”
    What? There are at least 170 references in the Bible about the land being given to the Jews. Yet, CATC is saying if you are interested in proving who the land was given to you are not allowed to use the Bible to make your point. Are they serious? What ‘Christian’ dismisses the Bible as a reference to prove a scriptural point?

 

In the 1960’s Bob Dylan once sang “don’t ask me nothing about nothing, I just might tell you the truth.”

Given how many facts have been flushed down the drain by the CATC Christians, it seems the last thing they are interested in is the truth. If the goal of the Arabs at CATC is to portray themselves as victims, it seems what they are victims of is their own lies and hatred. Heaven help them…

Silent Intifada Weekly Report [Feb 21 2016]

The Silent Intifada is produced weekly by HaKol HaYehudi, a magazine focused on the rights of Israeli residents of Judea and Samaria.  The Silent Intifada is the newest edition to our content partnership network.

One Jew was murdered and eleven were injured in over 200 terror attacks this week.

This week as almost every week there were dozens of terror attacks of varying severity not reported in most major media outlets. We report on these silenced events to present a fuller picture of the reality in Israel and balance the picture presented to innocent readers abroad. We hope that by reporting these incidents we can raise awareness so that actions can be taken to rectify this problem and improve reality in the Jewish State.

This past week (Feb.12th-Feb. 18th) there were over 200 attacks recorded in the ‘Silent Intifada’ updates on Hakol Hayehudi. These attacks included three shootings, two stabbings, two vehicular attacks, and a number of incidents of arson and throwing of stones and firebombs at individuals and property.

Tuvia Yanai Weissman

Tuvia Yanai Weissman HY”D, a 21 year old husband and father, was murdered by two 14 year-old Arab teenagers in the Rami Levi supermarket in Shaar Binyamin. The two terrorists stabbed him and one other person. The second victim is currently in moderate condition and is being treated at the Mount Scopus Hospital in Jerusalem.

In total eleven Jews were injured in terror attacks. Near the Tomb of the Patriarchs, a soldier was stabbed during Shabbat on Feb. 13th. Also near the Tomb of the Patriarchs, a terrorist attempted to stab a border police officer, but was restrained. In addition, a third terrorist was caught with a knife there. At the Mizmoria Checkpoint in Gush Etzion, a terrorist was neutralized during an attempted stabbing and by the Shechem Gate of the Old City in Jerusalem another attempted stabber was neutralized. Arab terrorists were caught placing IEDs (improvised explosive devices) near the A-Zaim Checkpoint and in the Talpiyot neighborhood of Jerusalem an Arab attempted to stab a Jewish woman.

Near the town of Maale Adumim, Arab thieves rammed into several police officers during a chase. Arabs in Binyamin fired shots at homes in Beit El causing damage, but did not harm any individuals, thank G-d. Near the Shechem Gate of the Old City, Arab terrorists also opened fire on police officers, but were quickly neutralized. In the village of Araka in the northern Shomron, Arabs shot at IDF forces.

During riots in Naalin, two border police officers were injured and a soldier was injured during riots in Kochbar. In Al-Imri an IDF soldier was also injured during riots and a driver was injured from stone throwing by Arabs in western Binyamin.

The Knife War that has Turned Into Something More

“When there’s a 13-year-old girl holding scissors or a knife and there is some distance between her and the soldiers, I don’t want to see a soldier open fire and empty his magazine at a girl like that, even if she is committing a very serious act. Rather he should use the force necessary to fulfill the objective.”

The above statement from Gabi Eisenkot, Israel’s top general essentially sums up the disconnect that Israel’s security heads have from the current round of violence. By treating actions like stabbing innocent civilians as criminal acts the heads of Israel’s security forces are working with a different set of assumptions than the Arab leaders of Israel are.

Knifings, stone throwings, and shootings are not happening because of some sort of criminal offense, but because the Arab leadership insists on fighting a war this way. In war, the fastest way to win is to use maximum force.  This does two things.  Firstly it saves lives of both warring parties and second it ensures victory. The longer a war goes on more civilians on both sides run the risk of death and victory becomes less certain.

The current violence has been carefully orchestrated to rise in severity as to constantly keep the security forces guessing.  The knives have now been replaced by guns and if Hamas can be believed, the guns will be replaced by bombs.  In fact Hamas has recently issued a music video hinting it is about to return to suicide bombs.

“Oh Martyrdom-seeker, make them cry. Make the fire engulf them. Turn them into body parts, roast them, bringing joy to the hearts of the steadfast [Palestinian] people.”

It may seem cruel to shoot a 13 year old girl waving a knife and attempting to hurt innocents, but by using maximum force against her, the enemy will learn that it is better to stop than use anything stronger.

Israel’s security agencies, despite their many successes still function in accordance with a false perception of what it means to deal with an unrepentant enemy.  This is an enemy who has taught its children to hate blindly.  In war, an enemy like that should not be spared and can only be stopped when it realizes it cannot win…ever.

This past week (Feb. 5th- Feb. 11th) there were over 140 terror attacks recorded in the Silent Intifada updates onHakol Hayehudi. Seven Jews were injured in these attacks. The attacks included stabbings, shootings, and throwing of IEDs, stones, and firebombs at individuals and property.

Three stabbings took place this past week. This past Shabbat (Feb. 6th), a 65 year old Jewish woman was stabbed in Rahat. She was injured moderately and the attacker fled the scene. On Monday (Feb. 8th) an Arab stabbed an 11 year old child in Ramle. The child was taken for treatment with moderate injuries.  On Tuesday (Feb. 9th), a resident of Rush Tzurim was stabbed near the town of Neve Daniel. He was also moderately injured.

Two police officers were injured in rioting by Arabs and two Jews were injured when stones were thrown at their vehicles.

There were also two shooting attacks this week, both of which thankfully ended without injuries. On Friday night (Feb. 5th) Arabs near Ariel shot at Jews and on Wednesday (Feb. 10th) Arabs shot at border police near Beit Horon.

Pamela Geller: Israel should never have recognized “Palestinian” as a Nationality

We had the privilege of interviewing Pamela Geller and learning her views of the Israel-Palestinian conflict, the growing terror wave in Israel and worldwide, and how faulty policies are responsible for many of the current conflicts.
Pamela Geller’s activism on behalf of human rights has won international notice. She is President of the American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) and Stop Islamization of America (SIOA). She is the author of The Post-American Presidency: The Obama Administration’s War on America and Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance. She is the editor and chief of Atlas Shrugs. Pamela is also a regular columnist for World Net Daily, the American Thinker, Breitbart.com and other publications.

1. What got you focused on Radical Islam? What drives you? Do you ever fear for your life?

9/11. I wanted to know who had attacked my country, and began to study and investigate. What drives me is a determination to defend freedom and individual rights, on which this country is based. I have a fatwa on my head from ISIS, but I will not stop telling the truth.

2. Why do you focus so much on exposing the threat of extremist Islam and is anyone even listening? Do organizations such as CAIR look at you as a threat?

I focus on it because it is the #1 threat to freedom today, and this threat is being obfuscated by our political and media elites. Yes, many are listening, and many are just as concerned as I am, but we are not given a voice in the mainstream media. CAIR is very threatened by what I do because I expose truths they are working to cover up.

3. What is your take on why we are seeing an increase of terrorism around the globe and in Israel?

Because of the weakness of the U.S. and the West. Obama showed the jihadis that he would not act energetically against them. They can act with impunity and he will do nothing. Ayn Rand said, “The spread of evil is the symptom of a vacuum. Whenever evil wins, it is only by default: by the moral failure of those who evade the fact that there can be no compromise on basic principles.”

4. Are the reasons for the terror wave in Israel the same as what happened in California and Paris? Or is the “occupation” and “protecting Al Aqsa” the real reason behind Palestinian terror?

Yes, exactly the same reason: the jihad to subjugate unbelievers under the hegemony of Islamic rule. Palestinian terror is motivated only by the Islamic idea that Islam must dominate everywhere.

5. In your opinion, why is the world so focused on Israel?

Israel has been the subject of a skillful and relentless propaganda barrage designed to demonize it in the eyes of the world.

6. Are Israeli leaders hurting Israel’s image? Should they be stronger in both voice and deed?

No matter how strong Israeli leaders are, they will still be demonized by the international media, which has become a tool of the jihad force. They should indeed be stronger, but whenever they are strong, they are vilified to such a degree that it hinders their ability to act.

7. How did the Palestinians gain control of the narrative in the Middle East? Why are they seen as the underdog?

They co-opted the left’s narrative of “resistance” to “oppression” and won over the left to their side. The whole idea of the “Palestinian” people was created in order to give the impression of a tiny Muslim population facing a massive Israeli force, and to co-opt the idea that Israel was the underdog against massive neighboring Arab Muslim states.

8. What can Israel do to regain the narrative?

Israel should never have recognized “Palestinian” as a nationality, and should continue to point out that this is a people with no history, manufactured for propaganda purposes. “Palestinian”is a marketing term for Jew hatred.

9. I believe left wing students on college campuses, if explained the facts behind what is going on, would swing to supporting Israel. Do we have to do a better job? Or are there other factors driving their decision to back what amounts to be a glorified terrorist entity?

Yes, but the main problem is that the campuses are dominated by left-wing propaganda. The playing field is not even. Some groups are doing a good job but it is hard for them to get a fair hearing, equal access, etc. And Muslim students are increasingly physically menacing on campuses.

10. What do you suggest Israel do to prevent future terror attacks? Some have proposed deporting terrorist family members. Your thoughts?

Stand strong. Make no concessions. “Land-for-peace” initiatives will never bring peace. Deporting the family members may have some limited value, but Israel really should confront the jihad terror ideology. Islamic Jew-hatred is the root cause of the war against the Jews.

11. Do you believe a 2-state solution is feasible? What are the world powers trying to achieve by pushing for a 2-state solution considering the fact that it is not in the best interest of Israel nor the Palestinians?

No, a Palestinian State would only be used as a jihad base to launch more jihad attacks against Israelis. World powers push for it because they ignore Palestinian media’s frequent genocidal statements, and pretend that this will solve the problem. In fact it will only weaken Israel and strengthen the jihad.
