Did The IDF Just End Hamas With Its Strike On Khan Yunis

With President Donald Trump’s trip to the Arab Gulf States continuing with full force, the IDF fired more than nine bunker busters into the European Hospital complex in Khan Yunis Gaza last night.

Israel had clear intelligence that Mohammad Sinwar the brother of the late Yahya Sinwar and the current head of Hamas’ military wing in the Gaza Strip as well as other leading terrorist figures were in a command bunker under the European hospital.

Learning from their take down of Hasan Nasrallah, Israel’s airforce essentially collapsed the bunker onto of anyone inside of it, sealing it from breathable air.

Killing Mohammad Sinwar as serious repercussions on the current war with Hamas as well as hostage negotiations set to begin in Qatar during Trump’s visit there.

Taking down Mohammad Sinwar means that the IDF had accurate intelligence in order to pull that off. The only way for the IDF to get that is if Hamas members are beginning to turn. If so, the cracks will only grow larger now.

Killing Mohammad Sinwar also sends Hamas into disarray right before the IDF is set to widen its war inside Gaza with the goal of reoccupying the entire Gaza Strip. Taking out the top command so close to a full invasion is a similar strategy the IDF employed in Lebanon. This made it easier for the IDF to fight Hezbollah and should do the same in Gaza.

In terms of renewed hostage negotiations expected to take place in Qatar, Mohammad Sinwar’s death will likely stall any agreement. After all, the Qataris have no one on the ground to talk to.

With an imminent final invasion soon to take place and no leadership left to unite Hamas in stopping the IDF, Hamas is on its last legs. The inly question now is when will they start begging for a deal that ends their rule once and for all and returns the rest of the hostages – living and dead.
